Journalism alive and well in Mystery Destination

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- Quality journalism may have died in the U.S., but it lives on in our mystery destination. GlobeGators signed up for a free 14-day Kindle subscription to The National, the English-language daily newspaper of record, in preparation for our trip to City X. The comprehensive international coverage, narrative features and meat-and-potatoes local reporting vastly exceeded our expectations. We especially liked "Shoppers flee as mall aquarium springs leak" Coverage like this hearkens back to the glory days of newspapers in the US, which was only like two years ago. No wonder former Wall Street Journal and NY Times reporters appear to have taken refuge there.
